Job summary

Compass Community is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support children with SEMH needs in our Folkestone school. You will assist learning, support 1:1 and small groups, and help create a safe, engaging classroom environment.

You should be patient, adaptable and good at English and Maths. Training is provided, and you will work within a supportive team across education and therapy to help every child reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEMH is desirable.
• Good communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning
• Work with children 1:1 or in small groups
• Manage classroom resources
• Take children on educational trips and visits
• Have lunch with children who struggle socially
• Have a good basic understanding of English and Maths
• Keep children safe with strong behaviour management
• Create, play and teach games to pupils
• Create amazing displays to support teaching
