Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is recruiting a Social Worker for Mental Health and Substance Use at Westerhailes Healthy Living Centre. The role involves statutory assessments, support planning, risk assessment and working with a multidisciplinary team to support adults, families and carers in Edinburgh.

Candidates should hold a Social Work degree, be or be on track to be registered with SSSC, and be prepared for PVG checks.

Qualifications

• Degree/diploma in Social Work (or equivalent).
• Registered or in the process of registering with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
• PVG Scheme checks required before offer; PVG updates may be required.

Responsibilities

• Undertake statutory assessments and support planning.
• Conduct risk assessments and risk management.
• Work in a multidisciplinary team to support adults, families and carers.
• Provide advice, guidance and interventions where adults are at risk.
