Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a Maths teacher for Oakfield Short Stay School, working across sites to educate pupils at risk of exclusion. You will plan, deliver creative lessons and support reintegration into mainstream settings.

The role requires QTS with Maths specialization, experience with SEMH needs, and strong IT skills. DBS enhanced check is required; a flexible approach and commitment to inclusion are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher status is essential.
• Specialism in Maths preferred.
• Experience with pupils with SEN in a secondary setting.
• Experience teaching pupils with challenging SEMH needs.
• Experience in educational development and planning.
• Knowledge of SEN legislation and county SEN policy.

Responsibilities

• Teach maths to groups of pupils with diverse needs, delivering engaging lessons.
• Assist in reintegrating pupils back into mainstream schools.
• Collaborate with educational psychologists, SEN coordinators and external agencies.
• Demonstrate commitment to inclusion and ensuring all pupils feel valued.
