The Berks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU) is hiring a part-time Elementary School Counselor to support students in its Alternative Education Programs. The role focuses on individual and group counseling, promoting social, emotional, and academic growth, and collaborating with families and school staff to remove barriers to learning.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Master's Degree and be certified as a School Counselor.
• At least three years of experience in education or mental health counseling preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with youth and adults.

Responsibilities

• Counsel students on an individual basis at elementary, middle, and high school levels as referrals arise.
• Counsel students on academic, social, emotional, and vocational development.
• Conduct group counseling sessions in personal, social, emotional, educational, and career areas.
