Job summary

Cardiff Council is seeking a part-time School Based Counselling Service practitioner to work across comprehensive and primary schools and in community settings. You will be part of ongoing development of counselling services and have access to supervision and CPD opportunities.

Applicants should hold a professional counselling diploma, have post-qualification supervised practice, and be accredited/registered with the BACP or UKCP. Experience in schools and supporting younger pupils is desirable.

Qualifications

• Professional diploma in Counselling is required.
• Evidence of post-qualification supervised practice.
• Accredited/registered with the BACP/UKCP or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Deliver school-based counselling in maintained secondary schools, the PRU, and Year 6 pupils in primary settings.
• Contribute to ongoing development of Counselling Services within Cardiff Local Authority and engage in CPD.
