Job summary

Five Rivers in Taunton operates a residential children’s home providing trauma-informed care and a supportive environment for young people aged 7-17. No prior experience is required as full training will be provided, with a Level 3 apprenticeship in residential childcare.

Hours are about 39 per week; sleep-ins are paid at £50 per night, and the service offers extensive benefits including training, diploma funding, and wellbeing support to help you build a lasting career in child care.

Qualifications

• Good written, verbal and IT communication skills.
• Willing to undergo safeguarding checks including DBS.
• Full driving licence and access to a car due to location.
• No specific experience required; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Involved in activities and events with children (kayaking, climbing, swimming, arts and crafts, forest walks).
• Act as a role model guiding and supporting children to make good choices.
• Clean, cook meals, maintain the home, and learn skills like nutrition and first aid.
• Develop your career through the Level 3 apprenticeship in residential childcare.
