Foster Care Associates Scotland is seeking a Supervising Social Worker to join our Scotland team in a home-based role covering East Scotland. You will support foster carers, monitor safeguarding, and contribute to trauma-informed care for children and young people.

The post is full-time (35 hours per week) with a potential car provided or a £2,000 car allowance, 30 days annual leave rising to 35 plus bank holidays; Life Assurance and an Employee Discount Scheme are also offered.

Qualifications

• Recognised Social Work qualification.
• Current Social Work registration with SSSC.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Knowledge of childcare legislation and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Commitment to trauma-informed, relationship-based practice.
• Flexibility to travel and occasional overnight stays.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsabilités

• Support foster carers and families to provide trauma-informed care that helps children feel secure and achieve positive outcomes.
• Build trusting relationships with foster carers and promote reflective practice.
• Monitor wellbeing and development of foster carers and ensure safeguarding standards.
• Ensure carers understand fostering role, trauma-informed parenting, and FCA Scotland procedures.
• Provide regular supervision and professional guidance to allocated carers.
• Collaborate within a multi-agency team to address holistic needs of children and families.
• Maintain documentation and plans, ensuring clear communication and coordinated care planning.
• Attend meetings and contribute reports to commissioning teams and networks to support responsive care.
• Promote the voice and rights of children and young people in decisions affecting their lives.
