Job summary

Hull City Council's Hull Fostering Service is seeking an experienced Fostering Social Worker to contribute to robust assessments and supervision of foster carers and to support foster families. We seek candidates passionate about ensuring children’s voices guide practice, with experience in fostering and trauma-informed care.

The role involves working within the Fostering Service to achieve the best outcomes for looked-after children, including matching, assessments and supervision across teams.

Qualifications

• Experience in fostering assessments and supervision of foster carers
• Knowledge of Fostering National Minimum Standards and Regulations
• Ability to work with trauma-informed approaches and promote children’s voices

Responsibilities

• Provide and support high-quality social work activities within Hull Fostering Service to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
• Undertake placement finding, matching and assessment of foster carers to best meet children’s needs.
• Record, supervise and plan with carers in line with Fostering NMS and Hull Social Care standards; attend meetings and panels as required.
• Deliver professional supervision, guidance and development support to carers and monitor child welfare and safety.
