Job summary

Five Rivers Childcare in Doncaster is seeking a qualified Supervising Social Worker to support and supervise foster carers in the North Fostering Service across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

You will work in partnership with Local Authorities and multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed practice and robust care planning, with opportunities to recruit foster carers and contribute to service growth.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification.
• Registered with Social Work England.
• Experience of working with children, young people and families; fostering experience is desirable.
• A good understanding of fostering, safeguarding, attachment and trauma-informed practice.
• Strong assessment, communication and report writing skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence to manage a varied caseload, complete statutory driven tasks within specified timescales.
• Work both independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support, supervise and develop foster carers so they are confident and competent to meet children’s needs.
• Undertake reviews, and complete high-quality reports and recording as part of care planning.
• Contribute to foster carer recruitment, attend fostering events, support assessments and shape service growth.
