Job summary

Edinburgh Women’s Aid is seeking a Children and Young People’s Complex Needs Support Worker to provide trauma-informed, long-term support to CYP affected by domestic abuse. You will manage a small caseload, develop care plans, and work with schools, health and social care to coordinate services.

The role emphasizes child-centred approaches, documentation, and participation in team supervision, with potential flexible hours. An HNC Childhood Practice or SVQ Level 7 is required.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification for working with children and young people.
• Minimum two years' experience of working with children and young people affected by domestic abuse, trauma, complex needs, neurodivergence and/or mental health difficulties.
• Knowledge of child protection, care standards, regulatory requirements and safe practice.

Responsibilities

• Work with a small caseload of CYP aged 5–17 with complex needs, developing care plans and delivering trauma-informed, child-centred support.
• Collaborate with schools, health, social care and other agencies to coordinate support and develop care pathways.
• Produce clear reports, maintain records, and participate in supervision and team meetings.
• Promote trauma-informed practice and deliver training to the CYP team.
