Job summary

Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a registered nurse with experience supporting Children in Care and Care Leavers. The role focuses on assessing health needs, developing care plans, and coordinating with carers and professionals in a trauma-informed approach.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered nurse with experience supporting vulnerable children and young people.
• Experience with trauma and complex health needs in Children in Care.
• Trauma-attuned approach and collaborative working with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct statutory Health Assessments for Children in Care (ages 5–18) in various settings.
• Contribute to and implement healthcare plans following identified health needs.
• Signpost and refer for further support when needed; manage a defined caseload.
• Provide leadership and supervision to other team members as required.
