Job summary

Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join the CAMHS Team at Clayfields House Secure Children's Home on a 10-month maternity cover contract. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess and treat complex SLCN in young people, advocating for trauma-informed, inclusive communication.

The role offers opportunities to influence service development, with strong supervision and CPD support within the Trust.

Qualifications

Qualified Speech and Language Therapist with HCPC registration.
Significant experience working with children and young people with speech, language and communication needs.
Experience in youth justice, social care, or CAMHS preferred.
Excellent clinical reasoning and advocacy.

Responsibilities

Undertake comprehensive speech, language and communication assessments.
Design and deliver evidence-based, individualised intervention programmes.
Provide consultation, advice, and training to colleagues to embed communication-inclusive practice.
Work collaboratively with families, carers, care and education staff, and the wider MDT to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
Contribute to service development and help shape innovative approaches to supporting communication within a secure setting.
