Job description

This is an 18-month FTC.

Amazon’s European Transportation Network Design team is responsible for improving the delivery of packages to customers by making it more reliable, faster, cheaper, and environmentally friendly, while managing double-digit annual growth in shipped volume.

We are seeking a Program Manager (18-month Fixed Term Contract) for Network Design Change Management. You will lead programs that drive strategic initiatives and address recurring issues related to delivery quality, speed, cost, and carbon footprint within the EU transportation network. Your role involves not only solving problems but also developing tools and refining processes to ensure long-term solutions, supporting the scalability of Amazon’s transportation network.

Do you see yourself in this role?
  • You are data-driven, enjoy analyzing large datasets, and translating insights into actionable strategies.
  • You excel at problem-solving, bringing structure to complex projects, and breaking them into manageable parts.
  • You can deliver projects under tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • You are motivated by identifying root causes of recurring issues and creating tools and processes to prevent them.
  • You are eager to learn about Amazon’s transportation network and can communicate complex concepts to non-experts.
  • You can coordinate multiple cross-functional projects simultaneously across Tech, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance.
  • You have a growth mindset and are committed to continuous self-improvement.
  • You can translate strategic directions into project roadmaps and resource plans.

If this sounds like you, we look forward to your application!

The role can be based in Luxembourg or London.

Key responsibilities:
  1. Define frameworks for balancing quality, speed, cost, and carbon emissions.
  2. Identify areas in the network where these trade-offs are misapplied, leading to inefficiencies.
  3. Develop proof-of-concept solutions to address identified issues.
  4. Collaborate with Business Intelligence and Software Development teams to automate methodologies.
  5. Establish mechanisms for ongoing review of network performance and implement improvements.
About the team

Our team innovates the way Amazon delivers packages from warehouses to customers, focusing on enhancing quality, speed, cost-efficiency, and environmental sustainability, all while managing significant volume growth. We launch new facilities, prepare for peak seasons, and resolve large-scale recurring challenges to eliminate waste from the network.

Minimum requirements:
  • Experience in program or project management.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Lean principles and DMAIC methodology.
  • Proficiency in MS Access and SQL.
  • Experience in requirements gathering and documenting detailed specifications.
