A leading timber business in the UK is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to manage dispatching, routing, and logistics. This full-time position requires strong analytical and organisational skills, along with proven transport and logistics experience. The ideal candidate will work independently, handle multiple projects, and ensure excellent customer service. The role is office-based and supports the smooth operation of transport logistics throughout the company.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience of working with transport and logistics systems.
  • Experience in route planning, vehicle defects & management, vehicle compliance and driver compliance.

Responsibilities

  • All dispatching, routing and tracking of delivery vehicles.
  • Plan and implement improvements to all Transport and Logistics systems or processes.
  • Ensure excellent customer service levels at all times.
  • Liaise daily with the Sales team and operations to ensure successful on-time distribution of goods.

Job description

Brooks Bros (UK) Ltd is a privately owned timber business which has been successfully trading hardwood and softwoods nationally for over 60 years. We have 5 strategically placed sites supplying sawn and machined hardwood, softwood, flooring, decking, cladding, sheet materials and engineered timber products.

We are currently seeking a Transportation Coordinator to assist with the day to day running of the Transport Department, including all load planning, customer service responsibilities, transport and logistic budgets.This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday (09.00 to 18.00)

Key Responsibilities:

  • All dispatching, routing and tracking of delivery vehicles
  • Working with Operations, Sales and Senior Management to bring about change to enable improvement in logistics and customer service levels.
  • Plan and implement improvements to all Transport and Logistics systems or processes
  • Ensure excellent customer service levels at all times
  • Liaise daily with Sales team and operations to ensure successful on time distribution of goods
  • Communicate transport information regularly to Sales and sub-contractor hauliers
  • Ensure good budget management
  • First point of contact for all Drivers

Must have:

  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects and manage staff
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills
  • Proven experience of working with transport and logistic systems.
  • Experience in route planning, vehicle defects & management, vehicle compliance and driver compliance.
