Pay Rate: £37,666.52
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns: Monday to Friday starting between 4am-11am (9hr shifts)
Location: Bawtry, DN11 9HE

We're now looking for a Transport Trainer/Cover Driver to to play a key role ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently, delivering goods safely and on time.

This role will start predominantly as a Driver with a view to move into a Transport Trainer role in the future.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

• Driving an 18T rigid HGV (Class 2) to deliver ambient, chilled and frozen products to DHL workshops within prisons. Multi-drop up to 4 drops per day
• Responsible for loading and unloading using PPT's and a tail lift
• Items will be on pallets - weighing up to 800kg or wheeled dollies (loaded with totes) up to 200kg
• Work in close proximity with prisoners and other DHL colleagues
• Work closely with the Transport Management Team to ensure we train our drivers to be safe, efficient and customer focused
• Regularly monitor drivers with telematics and compliance reporting as well as in cab coaching
• To assess and train drivers, including SMITHS system refresher course and slow speed manouver training
• To complete driver re-assessments

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

• Previous experience within a transport environment - essential
• Excellent people and communication skills - essential
• Hold a HGV Class 2 licence - essential
• Computer literate - essential
• H&S background- preferred
• Previous practical experience as a transport trainer/DDA - preferred
• Previous experience working with Tachomaster + Microlise - preferred
