Job summary

Strive Supply Chain in Berkshire is recruiting a Transport Team Manager to lead a high-volume, multi-drop operation at our Slough site. You will focus on coaching, safety, and delivering excellent service while managing customer expectations.

Reporting to the Transport Manager, you will drive KPI performance, lead the team, and ensure compliance with UK driving regulations. A strong people manager with superb communication skills is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have proven people management experience in a multi-drop transport operation.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Solid knowledge of UK transport legislation and compliance.

Our client is a leading 3PL, and we are delighted to support them in recruiting an experienced Transport Team Manager to lead a high-volume, multi-drop operation at their site in Slough, Berkshire.

Reporting to the Transport Manager, you'll work as part of a team responsible for managing the operations, compliance and most importantly… the people! You'll really 'get' the value in recognising good work in the team and making sure they are motivated will be your priority! You'll lead the team putting safety at the forefront and working towards shared goals of delivering the best service

Key Operational Accountabilities for the role of Transport Team Manager:

• Coaching the team to reach their full potential
• Communicating openly and consistently, delivering key messages to the team at the right time
• Managing recruitment, absence, performance conduct safety and service.
• Responsible for managing commercial vehicles, cages and pallets
• PPE, vehicle checks CV servicing MOT's, VOR's, temperature checks, near misses to name a few!
• Allocating work considering individual/team capability and legal driving hours to achieve targets
• Carrying out good quality investigations and no matter what you're doing, you'll always be promoting and managing all safety

• Proven ability to drive and motivate a team to work together and achieve KPIs and operational goals
• Excellent communication skills
• Superb Transport knowledge, especially with regards to UK Legislation
