Job summary

Blakemore Trade Partners is seeking an experienced Transport Team Manager for the Bedford Depot. The role handles supervision of operations, staff scheduling, and adherence to health and safety, with a salary up to £37,128 depending on experience.

The successful candidate will oversee a diverse team, support the Operations Manager, and ensure efficient, profitable depot performance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• First line Management experience and experience in managing people in a food distribution environment is essential
• Good level of Maths and English and working knowledge of Microsoft programmes- Word and Excel is desirable
• Warehousing experience essential
• Excellent communication skills and the capacity to build good working relationships with colleagues and customers
• Strong organisation and time management skills essential
• Ability to deal with conflict in an effective and professional manner
• Shows a commitment to ongoing personal development and training, always striving to improve
• IT Literate and knowledge of using a WMS system would be an advantage

Responsibilities

• To carry out supervisory tasks as required by the Operations Manager
• To cover areas of operations when low on resources as requested by the Operations Manager to ensuring consistent operational performance
• To ensure effective operations in the temporary absence of the Operations Manager
• The assist with staff scheduling, including absence management and performance
• To assist the Operations Manager in the effective use and maintenance of all equipment and machinery

Transport Team Manager - Bedford Depot

Up To £37,128 Depending On Experience

4 on 4 off rota - 6.00pm - 6.00am

Every Other Weekend

We are looking for an experienced Team Manager in our Transport operation, who is motivated, friendly, hard-working and passionate. The ideal candidate has the drive and motivation to support and engage a diverse team. You will be required to support and assist the Operations Manager with the organisation and control of efficient and profitable operations within the depot.
