Job description

Berry Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Transport Team Leader to join our client based in Bedford within their two-man home delivery and trunking operation.

This role is initially temporary with a look to move permanent for the right person!

Job Title: Transport Team Leader
Location: Bedford, MK43
Salary: 29,671.82 per annum
Contract Length: temp-to-perm
Shift Pattern: Any 5 of 7 days, rotational shifts 6am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm, weekend working included.

What are you accountable for achieving as a Transport Team Leader?
My client is recruiting a Transport Team Leader to work in our Two Man Home Delivery and Trunk operation. This role will include working over a rotational shift pattern.

The successful candidates will work towards supporting the management team in delivering work schedules and KPI's across the transport department on site and to support the management team in ensuring safe work practices.

What will you need as a successful Team Leader?

Essential:

  • Actively encourage compliance with Health & Safety Regulations
  • Flexible approach to change within the operation
  • Supervise and direct the workload and performance of team members
  • Conduct team Performance Dialog boards
  • Conduct 1-2-1's
  • Strong communication skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Previous warehousing or transport experience in a similar role

Desirable:

  • Experience with tachomaster or microlise software
  • Knowledge of WTD and tacho regulations
