Job summary

Worcestershire County Council is seeking a Transport Support and Technology Officer to provide vital administrative support to the Transport Technology Team in Worcester. You will handle financial transactions, maintain records, and assist with transport improvement projects, reporting and data maintenance.

The role offers full training, a permanent contract, 35 hours per week, and opportunities for development within local government.

Job Title: Transport Support and Technology Officer

Salary: £25,800 - £27,500 per annum

35 Hours per Week

Location: Warndon Depot, Pershore Lane, Worcester, WR4 0AA

Are you organised, enthusiastic and looking to start or develop your career in administration, technology and public transport?

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Highways and Transport Systems and Technology Team as a Transport Support and Technology Officer. This role provides vital, specialist administrative support to a busy and friendly team responsible for delivering transport services and improvement projects across Worcestershire.

About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding role where you will support a range of financial, administrative and technology-related activities across the Highways and Transport service.

You will:

  • Assist with processing invoices, purchase orders and other financial transactions.
  • Help maintain records, databases and specialist transport systems.
  • Respond to enquiries from customers, suppliers and colleagues.
  • Support the administration of transport improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Assist with producing reports and maintaining performance information.
  • Provide general administrative support across the Highways and Transport team.
  • Work with colleagues to help improve transport services for residents across Worcestershire.

Full training will be provided on all specialist systems, databases and financial processes.

About You

We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys working with people and has a positive and proactive attitude.

You should have:
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and general IT systems.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines.
  • A customer-focused approach.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Previous experience in an administrative, customer service or office environment would be beneficial but is not essential. We welcome applications from individuals looking to begin a career in local government, transport, business administration or technology support.
