Job Title: Transport First Line Manager
Location: Normanton
Contract: 6 Month Fixed Term covering long term sick (Possible Extension to permanent)
Hours: Full-time, Nights (20:00-04:00)
Salary: Up to £35,000 depending on experience
Overview:
A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Transport First Line Manager to join a high-performing automotive logistics operation in Normanton. This role is ideal for a proactive, organised professional with a passion for developing people, driving high standards, and delivering customer-focused operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure smooth daily transport operations, compliance with legal and safety standards, and delivery of KPIs.
  • Provide a reliable, customer-first service while building strong internal relationships and adapting to evolving needs.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team through goal setting, coaching, appraisals, and effective performance management.
  • Support business goals by aligning operations, driving improvements, and promoting clear communication across teams.
  • Lead by example with a commitment to self-improvement and continuous developmentfor yourself and your team.

Key Requirements:
  • Experience in a transport environment is essential.
  • Supervisory or team management experience (desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of EU Drivers Hours Regulations and Road Transport Directive.
  • Solid understanding of fleet compliance practices.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Excellent communication skillsboth written and verbal.
  • Proven track record of building and leading effective teams.
  • High attention to detail with basic IT proficiency.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of high school / secondary education.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy.
  • CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) desirable Not Essential.
