Job summary

A logistics company is seeking a Transport Supervisor for the NRC Rugby Hub, responsible for leading a team of drivers, ensuring smooth transport operations, and managing reports. The ideal candidate should have experience with TMS systems and proficiency in MS Office, and be able to motivate teams effectively during complex situations. Qualifications

  • Proficiency in PC use, especially Windows, MS Office, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Lateral thinking and logistics experience preferred.

The Vacancy

We have an opportunity for a Transport Supervisor to join us at our NRC RUGBY HUB.

This is a 14:00 to 22:00 shift, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays as required. The hours can vary depending on the time of year and workloads.

What will you do in the role?

  • Report to the Transport Shift Manager and provide leadership and direction to your shift of drivers.
  • Motivate colleagues, solve problems daily, and ensure smooth transport operations during your shift, providing detailed handovers to your Shift Manager and fellow Supervisors.
  • Brief and debrief drivers to ensure understanding and action of instructions for their runs.
  • Review driver log sheets, ensure vehicle defect reports are completed, and report any accidents or damages daily.

What skills/qualifications are required?

  • Experience in collating reports on driver information, including Digi tachographs, and health & safety for site and drivers.
  • Experience with TMS systems such as Isotrak, Tachomaster, Ortec, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in PC use, especially Windows, MS Office, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to motivate and prioritize effectively, especially in complex situations.
  • Lateral thinking, logistics experience, and previous work in a busy transport office are beneficial.
