Job summary

Furniture Village is seeking a transport leader to supervise home delivery fleets, ensuring regulatory compliance and efficient admin. You will uphold vehicle standards, manage the warehouse, and support the Premier Delivery Service with proper PPE and inspections.

You will drive customer-focused service, supervise staff with strong communication, and lead by example to build a high-performing team within a family-owned business.

Responsibilities

• Support the full compliance of the Home Delivery Fleet with vehicle operator licensing regulations and keep vehicle records up to date.
• Ensure all vehicles meet pre-set standards and remain legally compliant.
• Keep the warehouse/distribution centre clean, tidy and organised.
• Process transport centre administration efficiently, including signing delivery docs and ensuring payments are received.
• Work with the DM to ensure distribution teams deliver Premier Delivery Service with proper pre-delivery inspections and PPE usage.
• Support the store in delivering the Awesome Experience to customers.
• Ensure customer service interactions by distribution staff are polite and courteous.
• Communicate clearly and confidently with the team.
• Always follow health and safety procedures.
• Make a positive difference to the customer experience daily.
• Be a team player with a strong work ethic and lead by example to build high-performing teams.

• Support the full compliance of the Home Delivery Fleet in line with vehicle operator licensing legislation and regulations which includes accurate vehicle records (up to 2 years), servicing in line with regulations and drivers' hours, working time and daily checks.
• Ensure that all vehicles are kept to pre-set standards and are always legally compliant.
• Ensure the warehouse/distribution centre is clean, tidy and organised.
• Ensure all transport centre administration is carried out in an efficient, well-organised and effective manner i.e. sign of delivery documentation and making sure payment has been received.
• With the DM ensure all distribution employees deliver the Premier Delivery Service consistently, including pre-delivery inspections, use of protective equipment etc.
• Actively support the store in delivering the Awesome Experience.
• Ensure all customer service interactions and communication by distribution employees are polite and courteous.
• Communicating clearly and confidently with your team.
• Always following health & safety procedures.
