Job summary

A leading global logistics provider in Runcorn is seeking a Transport Supervisor to co-ordinate on-site transport operations. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative and communication skills, and experience with Microsoft Office. A passion for health and safety is essential. This position offers a rotational working schedule with opportunities for permanent employment after a successful qualifying period.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a transport office is preferred but not essential.
  • Must have positive attitude and good communication skills.
  • Ability to comply with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate transport operations on-site and with customers.
  • Maintain health and safety presence and challenge noncompliance.
  • Ensure vehicle defects are reported and actioned promptly.

Exciting new opportunity available in Runcorn!

Our client, a leading global brand, is looking to had a Transport Supervisor to their dedicated & committed team!

The ideal candidate will be required to:
~ Co-ordinate the transport operations on site and on customer premises to meet both customer and company expectations
~ Work closely with the onsite customer ensuring all operational requirements are met
~ Maintain a health and safety presence on site and challenge noncompliance
~ Ensure vehicle defects are reported and actioned in a timely manner
~ Ensure that all drivers are compliant with the working time directive regulations and that any accidents/incidents are investigated in a timely manner
~ Continually look to improve the service we provide offering ideas and recommendations as necessary

Desired skills & experience:
~ Good administrative skills
~ Have a positive attitude
~ Excellent communication skills – you’ll be speaking regularly with various stakeholders
~ Good understanding of Microsoft packages including Excel & Outlook
~ Knowledge of SAP would be advantageous

The working hours are on a weekly rotation consisting of:
~ WK1 Mon - Fri 0600 - 1430
~ WK2 Mon - Thurs 1330 - 2200 & Friday 1130 - 2030

*Previous experience in a transport office is preferred although not essential

An immediate start is available after successful interview, and this role will go permanent after a successful qualifying period!
