Job description

Permanent role for an experienced Transport Supervisor, £28,000-£32,000 DOE!
We are currently seeking an experienced Transport Planner for a baked goods distributor on the outskirts of Nottinghamshire.
Your responsibilities will include –
• Evaluating, planning, and coordinating transportation and routes for a fleet of 16 vans and overseeing 13 full time drivers along with additional temp drivers.
• Develop Transportation Plans: Create plans for driver daily routes ensuring time and distance is achievable within the operation hours.
• Coordinate with customers and relay any issues directly to management.
• Analyse Traffic Patterns: Identify roadway issues, recommend improvements based on traffic analysis, and update drivers of possible route problems to avoid.
• Create Route Maps and Schedules: Develop efficient routes and schedules considering factors like distance, time, and cost.
• Developing and managing relationships, agreements and contracts with internal and external clients, partners and suppliers.
• Monitor Performance Metrics: Track delivery times, costs, and other performance metrics, making adjustments as necessary.
• Ensure Compliance: Adhere to regulations, including health and safety laws, vehicle checks and environmental standards.
• Stay Updated: Keep up with emerging transportation technologies.

Candidates must have experience in transport supervision or management.

This is a permanent postion.

Working from Monday to Saturday 3am-11am, 40 hours per week.

This role pays at £14.90 per hour.
