Our client is a leading Non-Food FMCG Distributor currently recruiting for a Transport Supervisor to join their efficient and cost-effective Transport & Planning department, on a Monday to Friday basis (12pm to 8pm).

Reporting to the Transport Operations Manager, you will be responsible for providing efficient and cost-effective planning of all outbound workloads across 4 sites, liaising with third-party suppliers, internal operations, and customer service teams.

The primary responsibility is for the day-to-day running of the transport team, including managing workflows and allocating resources to deliver excellent customer service and meet departmental targets.

Key Accountabilities as Transport Supervisor
  • Planning collection & outbound workloads with third-party carriers based on volume, service, and cost.
  • Managing and supporting the transport team daily.
  • Acting as the first point of escalation for the transport team with internal and external clients.
  • Managing and ensuring compliance of the van fleet and drivers.
  • Engaging with third-party carriers to adhere to SLA agreements.
  • Collaborating with Despatch Operations to balance workflow across 24/7 operations.
  • Writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new processes.
  • Supporting and integrating new team members.
  • Identifying areas for process improvement.
  • Ensuring daily duties meet targets, KPIs, and organizational objectives.
  • Using planning skills to optimize routes for internal and third-party clients, considering volume, service, and cost.

  • Good geographical knowledge.

  • Knowledge of transport planning principles.
  • Experience managing third-party logistics carriers.
