Job description

Join our Doncaster team as a Contract Supervisor.

Salary: £33,000 annual

Responsibilities
  1. Manage safety, service, cost, and people to meet KPIs.
  2. Motivate the team to achieve targets through guidance and encouragement.
  3. Ensure daily and weekly KPIs are met using planning and scheduling tools.
  4. Operate within legal constraints of the site’s operator’s license.
  5. Ensure compliance with the Road Traffic Act and health and safety legislation.
  6. Assist in recruitment and training of the Operations Team.
  7. Build customer confidence through operational knowledge.
  8. Develop the Operations Team through performance plans and reviews.
  9. Maintain a proactive approach to Health & Safety standards.
  10. Promote a positive site culture and improve operational procedures.
  11. Collaborate with other departments and third parties to understand systems.
  12. Manage investigations, disciplinary, and grievance procedures.
  13. Control absence levels within the team.
  14. Monitor vehicle damage, hygiene programs, and system exceptions.
  15. Report to the CDC Manager.
  16. Organize driver and vehicle schedules to meet targets.
Candidate Requirements
  1. Experience in Operations, including Transport and Warehouse.
  2. Knowledge of computerised scheduling and driver management (FTA advantageous).
  3. Understanding of transport driver targets.
  4. Experience in a unionised environment preferred.
  5. Team management experience.
  6. Flexible to work shifts including weekends (Tuesday to Saturday operation).
  7. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Microlise system.
  8. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  9. Proven leadership and capacity for growth.
