Job description

Due to continued growth, our Duckmanton site is now recruiting for a Transport Sub Contract Planner to join their friendly team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Salary:

£30,888 per annum.

Working hours:

Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.

Job Description:

As a Transport Sub Contract Planner, you will be responsible for sourcing Sub Contract partners to support the delivery of goods from various Warehouse locations in the UK.

The successful applicant should have experience within a Sub Contract and Transport planning department, with excellent communication skills and a proactive, positive approach.

Job responsibilities include:
  • Offering work to Sub Contractors on a D1-D3 basis, ensuring financial targets are achieved.
  • Ensuring the Transport Management System (TMS) is updated with correct information and aligned with the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Managing KPI performance by haulier.
  • Sourcing and setting up new hauliers, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Monitoring haulier documentation for compliance.
  • Ensuring hauliers arrive on time.
  • Conducting quarterly review meetings with hauliers.
  • liaising with staff at other depots and external contacts.
  • Sourcing additional work from internal and external sources for the fleet.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Excellent administration skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Experience in an FMCG environment is desirable.
  • Flexibility to meet deadlines.
