Job summary

A global engineering and manufacturing client is seeking a Transport Specialist to plan and execute transportation operations. The role involves identifying areas for improvement, supporting operational performance metrics, and requires prior international transportation experience. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel are essential. This is a full-time onsite role with a competitive hourly rate.

  • Prior experience in ocean, road, and air transportation.

  • Proficient in Excel, including vlookup and pivot tables.

  • Plan and execute transportation operations for finished products.
  • Initiate continuous improvement ideas for transportation processes.
  • Review and improve performance management of carriers.

Job description

Job Title: Transport Specialist
Client: Global engineering & manufacturing client
Location: Larne
Hourly Rate: Maximum £15.77 PAYE or £20.56 Umbrella
Duration: 6 months
Working arrangements: Monday - Friday full-time onsite

About the Role:

  • Support the Trade Lane Manager to plan and execute transportation operations for finished products from production centres in EAME to Dealers in region and overseas.
  • Support and initiate continuous improvement ideas or larger transformational initiatives.
  • Review and identify areas for improvement through review of Velocity on our Transportation Lanes.
  • Review and identify areas for improvement through performance management of our carriers.
  • Support the operational performance metrics (velocity, cost, data quality) and work across teams to achieve the targets.

Key Skills:
  • Prior experience in International transportation ie Ocean (Container/RORO), Road (Truck) and Air.
  • Analytical skills
  • Strong experience in Excel, vlookup, pivot tables
  • Microsoft office
