Pay Rate: Competitive+ 16.75% Shift Premium.
Grade: RCS N
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns: Monday to Friday, x3 shift rotation, covering AM 05:00 - 13:00, Backs 13:00 - 21:00 & Nights 21:00 - 05:00
Location: Birmingham - B24 9HY / B92 9EP

DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a Transport Shift Manager to play a vital role coordinating our daily warehouse and distribution requirements.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:

• Supporting in providing a fully compliant operation, operational expertise, ensuring the transport operation is efficiently run within the agreed cost perimeters and ensuring a first class service is maintained to achieve the contracts objectives and meet the customers demands.
• Achievement of targets, deliveries on time, maintaining team morale, achievement of personal development objectives and remaining compliant.
• Managing x8 controllers, up to x300 drivers including sub-con, agency, co-ordinate, supervise and report upon the work activities of a team; providing effective communication, leadership, motivation, training & development.
• Accountable for the delivery of all aspects of the shift operation ensuring the delivery of efficient and customer focused service.
• Analyse reports against KPI targets and advise on action to improve results.
• Fostering an environment that promotes a culture of Continuous Improvement, sharing of ideas and best practice.

• Transport experience within a Supply Chain or Logistics experience essential.
• Management experience.
• IT literate with MS packages.
• Tachomaster, Microlise, Key2 experience highly advantageous.
• Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
