Salary: Circa £35,000 (Negotiable depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week
Shifts: Rotating – 07:00–16:00 / 08:00–17:00 / 09:00–18:00
On-call rota: Yes
Lunch break: 1 hour

A leading, independently owned UK logistics company is looking for an experienced Transport Scheduler to join their expanding Tanker Department, based in Norwich.
With a large fleet of over 100 company-owned vehicles operating across the UK and Europe, this role offers the opportunity to be part of a busy, supportive team responsible for high standards of service and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and coordinate vehicle movements for tanker collections and deliveries
Maximise vehicle and driver utilisation while adhering to schedules
Schedule vehicles for maintenance, servicing, and MOTs in line with internal requirements
Monitor live driver progress and ensure delivery performance standards are met
Provide operational support to drivers on the road, resolving issues proactively
Ensure compliance with UK and EU transport legislation, including the Working Time Directive
Input orders, update schedules, and carry out general administrative duties
Candidate Requirements:
Proven experience in traffic or transport planning (ideally within tanker or Class 1 operations)
Strong knowledge of UK geography and road networks
Understanding of driver regulations, including WTD and tachograph rules
Computer literate with the ability to quickly learn transport systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
CPC qualification is desirable but not essential
Background in logistics, distribution, or supply chain preferred
