Job summary

Autoskills-Uk in Rotherham is recruiting an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to service and repair transport refrigeration systems on HGVs, trailers and light commercial vehicles. The role offers on-going training, development and long-term career opportunities.

We welcome experienced HGV/LCV Technicians with a mechanical or electrical background, with full training provided to become a specialist Refrigeration Engineer. Work is site-based with a 1-in-5 on-call rota.

Qualifications

• Experience working with transport refrigeration systems.
• F-Gas qualification – C&G 2079-11.
• Experience diagnosing mechanical, electrical and refrigeration faults.
• Transport refrigeration installation experience.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Self-motivated and hardworking approach.
• Fleet or commercial vehicle experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, maintain and repair transport refrigeration units on HGVs, trailers and LCVs.
• Servicing and repairing units across various makes/models.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and refrigeration faults and repair them.
• Install refrigeration units to trailers, HGVs and LCVs.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Work independently at customer sites and away from the workshop.
• Participate in a 1-in-5 on-call rota for out-of-hours breakdowns.
• Carry out first-time fixes wherever possible.
• Manage van stock and ensure correct parts are available.
• Accurately record work, parts and service information.
• Support other workshop team members and apprentices when required.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety and workshop cleanliness.
