Job summary

British Transport Police is recruiting Police Officers for Stevenage, Colchester, Southend, Brighton, and Guildford under the Police Constable Entry Programme. A valid UK driving licence is essential.

The role focuses on protecting the public on one of the world’s busiest transport networks, with training, development and opportunities to specialise. You do not need policing experience; Level 2 English/Maths or Level 3 qualification or equivalent work experience are required.

Qualifications

Applicants from all backgrounds are encouraged; no policing experience required.
Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent are needed; Level 3 or work experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

Protect passengers, railway staff and the public on a busy transport network.
Respond to incidents and emergencies; investigate crimes as required.
Support vulnerable people and safeguard children where applicable.
Build positive relationships with people from all walks of life.
Work with colleagues to keep the network safe and deliver high quality policing.
