Job summary

British Transport Police is recruiting Police Officers for the B Division across Stevenage, Colchester, Southend, Brighton, Guildford, Southampton and Bournemouth. Officers will patrol, respond to emergencies, investigate crimes and gather intelligence while building community trust.

The role requires strong communication, good judgement, empathy, resilience and confidence under pressure to handle diverse situations across the transport network.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid full UK driving licence.
• Strong communication skills required.
• Good judgement and problem-solving ability.
• Empathy and emotional resilience under pressure.
• Confidence to handle a wide range of situations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct visible patrolling across the network.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and incident calls.
• Carry out criminal investigations and gather evidence.
• Address graffiti, theft and other public safety concerns.
• Build and maintain trust with local communities.
• Work collaboratively with CID, Counter-Terrorism, the Dog Unit and other specialisms.
