Job description

Our Telford site is recruiting for a Transport Planning Supervisor to join their friendly team on a 12-month fixed-term basis.

Working hours: 4 on 4 off, 6:30am-6:30pm.

Salary: £35,995 per annum, plus a £1,000 annual attendance bonus.

As a Transport Planning Supervisor, you will support the delivery of the Transport Budget concerning fleet usage and haulier spend. The role involves optimizing transport solutions to ensure cost-effectiveness for the business.

Key Duties:

  • Review the daily Transport Plan to identify efficiencies.
  • Ensure staffing levels are adequate each day, with payroll and annual leave managed via Horizon.
  • Source third-party work and increase backhaul revenue.
  • Publish daily KPIs and statistics to meet targets.
  • Ensure Service Level Agreements are exceeded.
  • Perform additional tasks as requested by the Transport Planning Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of transport planning in a radial and direct delivery environment, including inter-depot trunk or cross-docking movements.
  • Proficiency with Transport Management Systems.
  • Ability to develop internal and external relationships as a team player.
  • Experience reporting within a KPI-driven operational environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Good geographical knowledge.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and computer literacy.
