Job Description

Our Telford site is now recruiting for a Transport Planning Supervisor to join their friendly team on a 12-month fixed-term basis.

Working hours: 4 on 4 off, 6:30 am - 6:30 pm.

Salary: £35,995 per annum, plus a £1,000 per annum attendance bonus.

As a Transport Planning Supervisor, you will support the delivery of the Transport Budget concerning fleet usage and haulier spend. The role involves supporting the Transport function in optimizing and providing the most cost-effective transport solutions for the business.

Key Duties of a Transport Planning Supervisor:

  • Review the daily Transport Plan to drive efficiencies.
  • Ensure adequate staffing on shift, with payroll and annual leave coverage managed via Horizon.
  • Source third-party work and increase backhaul revenue.
  • Publish daily KPIs and stats to ensure targets are met.
  • Ensure Service Level Agreements are exceeded.
  • Perform any additional work requested by the Transport Planning Manager.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Transport Planning in a radial and direct delivery environment, including inter-depot trunk or cross-docking movements.
  • Essential knowledge of Transport Management Systems.
  • Team player capable of developing internal and external relationships.
  • Experience in reporting within a cost/KPI-driven operational environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, accurately, and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Good geographical knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Proficiency in computer use, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
