Job description

Transport Planning/Network Manager
Location: Leeds
Salary: 50,000.00 - 60,000
Summary:
This is a newly created role and will involve managing a small team of Transport Planners who are responsible for planning and resourcing all vehicle movements (Final Mile Delivery and Primary Trunking). You will be the strategic point of call for network and new business modelling, fleet utilisation and planning performance and directly influence vehicle mix, resource levels and capacity. Reporting into the Operations Director, you'll be an integral part of the Senior Management Team. Advanced Planning experience along with Paragon are a must for anyone applying for this role.
Duties will include but are not limited to
Managing Planning Team members either directly or indirectly
Providing coaching and training
Reviewing the previous days plans versus executed and making weekly recommendations
Liaise with sales on new business enquiries/pricing
New work tender analysis
Route/Trunk optimisation
Developing and implementing forecasting & planning systems
Key skills
Experienced in Route Planning & Scheduling
Final mile, trunking & returns (in house or 3PL) knowledge
Excellent geographic knowledge of the UK
A good knowledge of U.K. and E.U. driving regulations for LCV & LGV, Working Time Directive, Operator Licencing, etc.
Detailed experience of Transport Management and Planning systems, specifically Paragon
Advanced Excel skills
People management and development
Experience of working with senior teams and managers
A CPC qualification would be beneficial
