Job Description:

Temp Station are excited to announce we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our client’s team, an international freight forwarding company, as a Transport Planner based in Normanton, West Yorkshire.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning daily radial vehicle routes efficiently.
  • Subcontracting C&D’s outside the area in the most effective way.
  • Monitoring driver locations via trackers and phone.
  • Handling enquiries from UK & overseas colleagues, subcontractors, and drivers promptly.
  • Booking trailers onto ferries.
  • Managing trailer allocations.
  • Processing internal and external invoices.
  • Administering trailer hire arrangements.
  • Booking vehicles daily with suppliers.
  • Providing up-to-date job lists for drivers.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Adhering to CSR policies and procedures relevant to the role.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Managing drivers and equipment to ensure timely collections and deliveries across the UK.

Educational background:

  • GCSEs in Maths and English.

Technical skills and competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in a similar environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of the UK road network and geography.
  • Ability to work under pressure during peak times.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently.
