Transport Planner - 40,000 to 45,000 Monday to Friday Nights 01:00 - 09:00

We are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our clients busy Transport team. Reporting to the Transport Manager/Depot Manager, you will be responsible for planning efficient multi-drop delivery routes, maximising fleet utilisation, and ensuring full compliance with transport legislation.



The Role

As a Transport Planner, you will play a key role in the smooth running of daily operations. You will be responsible for:

  • Planning and scheduling multi-drop delivery routes for drivers across Ireland
  • Maximising fleet efficiency while reducing delivery costs
  • Allocating loads and optimising truck space usage
  • Liaising with the Transport and Depot Manager to coordinate routes and loads
  • Ensuring compliance with legal driving hours and tachograph regulations
  • Monitoring, reviewing, and improving routing efficiency
  • Carrying out ad hoc transport-related duties as required


What We're Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 2-3 years' experience in a transport planning role
  • Excellent geographical knowledge of Ireland
  • Strong understanding of transport operations and planning processes
  • Knowledge of tachograph rules (advantageous)
  • Proficiency in IT, transport systems, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Reliability, adaptability, and excellent timekeeping
