Transport Planner 4/4 off - Days, Carrington

Owens Group is a fast-developing, multisite organization with a diverse customer base, offering an exciting opportunity.

We are looking to recruit a Transport Planner.

Working Hours: 4 on 4 off Days - 6am to 6pm

Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan routes and schedule deliveries to ensure timely and cost-effective customer service.
  • Carry out tasks independently, adhering to cost and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with internal and external customers to resolve issues.
  • Collect, analyze, and distribute relevant data.
  • Provide professional advice internally and externally.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external customers.
  • Ensure support services are in place and meet required levels.
  • Prioritize and coordinate workloads efficiently.
  • Complete tasks within set timeframes and standards, aiming for zero customer complaints and adherence to budgets.
  • Work collaboratively with customers, suppliers, drivers, and traffic teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, monitor performance, and work proactively to reduce late deliveries.
  • Maintain computer systems such as Stirling and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ensure compliance with transport regulations and safety standards.
  • Monitor and improve SAFED achievements.
  • Participate in employee health and safety responsibilities.
  • Ensure vehicles and trailers are available and compliant with inspection requirements.
  • Support management as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Job-specific qualifications preferred.
  • Knowledge of Traffic Management and VOSA Compliance.
  • Strong problem-solving and logical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
