Job description

As a Transport Planner, you will play a central role in creating effective transport plans for our customers within the wider Stobart network, while complying with legal responsibilities.

Shift:

4 on 4 off days

Responsibilities:
  1. Effectively manage and plan drivers through ongoing communication and using our state-of-the-art transport software.
  2. Control and plan an agreed amount of resources (vehicles, drivers, trailers); ensure all legal requirements are adhered to (Working Time Directive and EU drivers’ hours regulations).
  3. Ensure the daily plan is completed in real-time, managing resources effectively; maximize utilization while minimizing costs.
  4. Keep internal tracking systems organized and updated to an exceptional standard.
  5. Regularly use in-house planning tools and systems to manage workload and monitor efficiency.
  6. Understand and achieve key performance targets related to fleet safety and efficiency (including utilization and costing).
  7. Maintain constant communication with customer service teams and drivers to ensure customer KPIs and targets are achieved and maintained.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to organize your workload and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in PC use, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience using a TMS system.
  • Experience in an FMCG environment.
