We're currently looking for a skilled Transport Planner to join an expanding team based in Manningtree (Essex) for our client who focuses on general & specialist haulage movements across the UK and EU.

Transport Planner Job Overview

1. Operating own allocated team of drivers and trucks focusing on vehicle revenue performance.
2. Assist in all aspects of customers' transport requirements.
3. Communicating with company transporter drivers.
4. Allocating and working with Sub Contractor Transport Suppliers.
5. Load Building as required.
6. Meeting customer lead time requirements.
7. Input of job creation into company software.
8. Responsibility for on-call out of hours contact on Rota system.
9. Responding to ever-changing priorities depending on current needs.

Transport Planner Job Requirements

1. Experience and knowledge of the Road Haulage Industry together with excellent geographical understanding.
2. Good Excel skills with excellent attention to detail.
3. Ability to work under pressure and on your own initiative.
4. Problem-solving skills & the ability to adapt plans.
5. Able to interpret forecasts and plan accordingly to cover transport peaks.
6. Good working knowledge of EU driver hours and regulations.
7. Transport Manager CPC qualification / willing to attend transport management CPC training - highly desirable.

Transport Planner Salary & Benefits

Salary DOE £30 - 35k
Mon - Friday, normal hours of work between 08.00 and 18.00 (start times may vary between 08.00 and 09.00)
25 days increasing to 27 days after 5 years' service (plus bank holidays)
Free parking on site
