Were looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Transport Planner to join our client based in Wimborne.

Youll be a part of the Transport Management team reporting to the Operations Manager, and will be expected to provide a high level of service to customers and ensuring that the driving force and vehicles are efficiently and effectively utilised.

Your responsibilities as a Transport Planner:

  • Providing excellent customer service whilst dealing with customer orders
  • Answering incoming calls, emails and entering orders onto the ordering and routing systems accurately
  • Managing the drivers working day, producing schedules and processing delivery notes for invoicing
  • Ensuring all orders are completed and correct details are placed against jobs
  • Providing support to colleagues within the Transport Department and assisting the Transport Manager with the compliance of the fleet
  • Adhering to company policies and procedures
  • Complying with Health and Safety and environmental legislations

What were looking for:

  • Good telephone manner and the ability to work under pressure
  • Attention to detail and accurate administration skills
  • Understanding and acceptance of Health and Safety and environmental regulations
  • Understanding of HGV drivers Working Time Directive
  • Ability to use IT systems (Microsoft Outlook, Excel etc.) and to learn operating ordering and routing programs
  • Knowledge of the waste and construction industry would be an advantage but is not essential as training can be given
  • Previous transport and/or logistics experience would be beneficial, but other transferrable skills will be considered

What we offer:

Hours: This role is offered on days only, Mondays to Fridays with the core hours being 07:00 17:00 with half an hour unpaid lunch break.
