Transport Planner
Location: Portishead

The Role:
  • £35,000 per annum + Bonus Structure
  • Overtime opportunities available
  • Monday–Friday: 06:00–15:00
  • Full time & Permanent role
  • Free on‑site parking (if applicable_

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement daily and weekly transport schedules based on customer demands, service levels, and fleet availability
  • Coordinate with drivers, warehouse teams, third‑party hauliers, and customer service to ensure timely and compliant goods movement
  • Monitor live transport operations; proactively resolve disruptions or delays
  • Maintain and update your Transport Management System with accurate, timely data
  • Ensure all transport activity complies with EU transport legislation, including tachograph and driver‑hour regulations
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives such as carbon reduction and digital transformation in logistics
  • Liaise professionally with customers to address transport‑related issues or complaints
  • Stay informed about industry trends, fuelprices, and regulatory changes impacting operations

The Right Candidate:
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in transport planning or logistics coordination
  • Strong knowledge of EU transport regulations and driver hours
  • Proficient in transport‑planning software (e.g., SAPTM) and MicrosoftExcel
  • Full, clean driving licence is beneficial
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making ability
  • Flexibility to adapt to dynamic operational requirements
