Job description

NN1 Personnel is looking for an enthusiastic Transport Planner for our client based in Northampton to work closely with the senior transport planner to ensure the smooth operation of their fleet.


What we are looking for:
  1. Minimum 2 years of experience in general haulage and Multi drop planning.
  2. A strategic thinker who can juggle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  3. Excellent communication skills to liaise with drivers, clients, and other stakeholders.
  4. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills to tackle any challenges that arise in the transportation process.
  6. Hours will be between 6am & 7pm Monday to Friday.
  7. You will be expected to have the out of hours phone on a rota basis including weekends.

About the role:
  1. Allocation of work to drivers in a fair and transparent manner.
  2. Taking bookings and accurately advising clients of our services.
  3. Monitoring of jobs through to POD and completion.
  4. Implementing and maintaining Service Level Agreements.
  5. Proactively keeping clients and fellow employees informed of any delays or issues.
  6. Ensure your fleet size is sufficient to service your clients particularly during peak periods - maintain levels and recruit drivers when required.
  7. Any other duties instructed by Operations manager or directors.
  8. Ensure drivers achieve maximum revenue.
  9. Seek backloads for drivers.
  10. Responsible for particular accounts.
