Job description

Transport Planner role is responsible to the Transport Manager.

Hours: Sunday night/Monday morning to Friday morning, 01:00am - 09:00am (night)

5 days over 7

WHAT WILL MY DAY TO DAY LOOK LIKE

• Plan multi-drop delivery routes for drivers to deliver goods and products to customers.
• Utilise the company fleet effectively to reduce delivery costs.
• Determine optimal truck space utilisation.
• Liaise with the Transport or Depot Manager to coordinate routes and loads.
• Understand and adhere to legal driving hours and 'rules of the road'.
• Review and improve routing and delivery efficiency.
• Perform any other transport-related tasks as needed.

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE

• Strong knowledge of transport planning and operations.
• 2-3 years' experience in a similar role.
• Excellent geographical knowledge of Ireland.
• Knowledge of tachograph rules (advantage).
• Strong organisational and planning skills; ability to work independently.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with IT, transport systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; adaptable to change.
• Excellent timekeeping and attendance.
