Transport Planner - 1 Year Experience Required - Permanent Role

Salary: Up to £34,000 PA DOE

Shift: Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 17:30

Silver Arrow has a vacancy for a transport planner with a reputable, innovative transport & logistics group based in Cheshire.

A transport manager CPC qualification is preferable, though not essential for the candidate with the right attributes.

  • 20 days holiday + bank holidays, increasing by one day per year following the first full year of service to a maximum of 33 days plus bank holidays.

Your Role:

  • Planning and allocation of nationwide automotive, plant and agricultural machinery deliveries.
  • Ensuring that the operation complies with all regulatory legislation and best practices.
  • Ensuring consistently reliable driver behaviour concerning safety, legality, efficiency and profitability.
  • Managing day-to-day issues of the remote driver workforce, including welfare and pastoral matters.
  • Attending Customer conference calls and meetings where required.
  • Dynamic evaluation of operational decisions likely to affect group performance and Customer experience.
  • Daily liaison with line managers to identify operational exceptions and implement solutions.
  • Balancing own fleet use and sub-contraction.

In this fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to a diverse Customer base. The ability to think laterally and make sound decisions will be essential. Additionally, you'll need the aptitude to develop a detailed understanding of the operation and the specific characteristics of the broader sector.
