Job Description

Rapid Time Recruit, working as an employment agency, is seeking a Transport Planner on behalf of our client in the Knowsley area on a full-time permanent basis. You will play a key role in daily and weekly route planning for vehicles and drivers, effectively managing budgetary and legal constraints.

This is a permanent position with a well-established company.

The Role - Transport Planner

Our client is looking for a committed and detail-oriented Transport Planner to join their vibrant team on a permanent basis, working full-time with 10-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, 17:00 - 05:00. Hours may vary to meet operational needs.

Essential: Deep understanding of the container industry and prior experience with container planning and port booking systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and optimizing transportation routes to ensure efficient supply chain operations. This role requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

1. Create and implement transport plans to optimize routes and reduce costs.
2. Collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of goods.
3. Analyze data to identify trends and inform logistics decisions.
4. Manage relationships with customers and drivers, providing excellent service and addressing concerns promptly.
5. Utilize IT systems such as TOPS, VBS, Excel, and Word to maintain records and generate reports.
6. Lead initiatives to improve transport efficiency.
7. Coordinate with departments to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

1. Proven experience in transport planning within the container sector.
2. Strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
3. Experience with systems like TOPS for port bookings and VBS.
4. Excellent customer service skills.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
6. Leadership skills with a focus on teamwork.
7. Strong IT skills and adaptability to new technologies.
8. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
