Job description

Transport Planner – 1 Year Experience Required - Knowsley – Permanent Role.

Salary: £31,000-£34,000 depending on experience.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday NIGHTS between 1600pm-0200am and 2000pm-0600am (1 Hour Lunch).

Silver Arrow require an experienced Transport Planner to work for a container company based in the Knowsley area.

Your Role:

1. Night shift route planning for container loads for UK wide distribution.
2. Review driver routes and plan to maximise efficiency.
3. Keep all customers informed of all failed services or significant delays.
4. Provide the communication link between customers and drivers.
5. Supervising and managing driver workloads.
6. Monitoring driver performance.
7. Ensuring your routes are numbered correctly and all jobs are sequenced.
8. Investigating failed services and looking into ways to resolve site issues.
9. Managing driver’s daily activities in line with the Working Time Directive and driving hours.
10. Ensuring every customer receives excellent customer service.

What we need from you:

1. Container route planning experience (1 year minimum).
2. Previous experience within a transport planning position.
3. Experience with Navis VBS.
4. Excellent manual transport planning skills and experience.
5. Experienced in route planning for 20 x Tractor Units.
6. Experience using TOPS Transport Management System.
7. Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
8. Competent decision making.
9. Good geographical knowledge of the North West and UK.
10. Strong customer service skills.
