NEOS Engineering Recruitment are looking for an experienced transport planner to join a leading recycling company. The client are a great client of ours who are searching on a maternity cover basis although there is potential for extension due to business growth in the transport team. If you are looking for a new role as a Transport Planner then please read below.

The Role:

As a Transport Planner, you will ensure efficient nationwide route planning between sites in accordance with driving time regulations, while supporting drivers, maintaining vehicles, and adapting to real-time changes. This role involves producing achievable transport plans, liaising with stakeholders, and handling administrative tasks to optimise operations in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring nationwide routes are planned efficiently between sites and in accordance with driving time regulations.
  • Providing drivers with their route instructions and reviewing the daily completion of plans.
  • Producing a plan that allows for vehicles to be maintained in accordance with the vehicle maintenance schedule.
  • Producing an achievable and efficient transport plan, allocating jobs to suitable drivers and correct vehicles, whilst also communicating any job-specific instructions.
  • Ensuring the plan is updated to reflect changes such as task variations, driver unavailability, traffic restrictions, etc.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Strong geographical knowledge.
  • Prior transport planning experience is essential.
  • IT literate and a good communicator.
  • 42.75 hours per week between 7am-7pm, Monday to Friday.
