(Transport Planner) - Position Overview

Our client is a well-established, nationwide haulage company operating from a network of eight depots across the UK. Founded in the 1960s, they remain a proud, family-run business with a strong reputation for reliability, professionalism, and service. Their modern fleet of vehicles and trailers is supported by a dedicated, experienced team.

They are now looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join us; someone who can make an immediate, positive impact both operationally and within the team culture.


(Transport Planner) - Position Responsibilities:

  • Plan and schedule loads to ensure timely, cost-effective deliveries.
  • Manage return loads to maximise efficiency and profitability.
  • Oversee driver performance and compliance with working time and driver hours regulations.
  • Coordinate vehicle and trailer maintenance in line with schedules.
  • Accurately update traffic system in real-time.
  • Collaborate with the transport team and attend operational reviews.
  • Build a strong understanding of the wider transport network to support group-wide efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement across all planning and operational processes.
  • Uphold and develop Health & Safety and Environmental standards.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through reliable, responsive service.

  • Salary - 30,000 - 36,000
  • Monday to Friday, 7am - 4/ 5pm (TBC)
  • 20 days holiday + 8 bank holidays

  • Bonus scheme (To be discussed with the company)
  • Free, on-site parking
